James (Jim) D'Arcy

James (Jim) D’Arcy is a retired registrarial and enrolment planning executive with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in higher education. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated expertise in strategic and operational planning, data analysis, enrolment management, governance, and complex project leadership. Their professional experience includes senior roles at Athabasca University (AU) in Athabasca, Alberta, and the University of Regina (U of R) in Regina, Saskatchewan, where they contributed to institutional strategy, student success initiatives, and organizational transformation.

Jim has been an active contributor to the higher education community, serving on numerous advisory and professional bodies, including the Western Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (WARUCC), the Pan-Canadian Consortium on Admission and Transfer (PCCAT), the Saskatchewan Transfer Credit and Learner Pathway Council (STCLPC), and the Alberta Council on Admission and Transfer (ACAT). Through these roles, they have supported collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of effective student mobility and enrolment practices across Canada.

Jim holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Athabasca University (2007) and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Enrolment Management from Royal Roads University (2023). A lifelong learner and advocate for continuous improvement, Jim is currently completing the Microsoft Data Analysis with SQL, Excel, and Power BI Specialization to further enhance their ability to harness the power of data. They are passionate about transforming complex information into actionable insights that enable evidence-based decision-making, improve organizational outcomes, and support strategic priorities.
